Who we are

Orange Steps helps homeowners prepare a sale before they instruct an estate agent. We are responsible for the personal information described here. You can contact us about anything in this policy at info@orangesteps.com.

What we collect

When you join our list: the postcode of your home and your email address.
When you email us: your email address and whatever you choose to tell us.
When you visit the site: our hosting provider records basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, to run the site securely.

We don't use advertising or analytics cookies on this site at the moment. If that changes, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent first.

Why we use it

To tell you when we can take on your home, and to answer your questions. We rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
To keep the site running and secure. We rely on our legitimate interest in operating a safe website.

Who we share it with

We never sell your information, and we never pass it to estate agents, solicitors, mortgage advisers or anyone else unless you ask us to.

We use a few service providers to run the site, who handle data on our behalf and under our instructions:

Netlify, which hosts the site and stores form submissions.
Google Fonts, which supplies the typefaces on the site and receives your IP address when the page loads.
Our email provider, which we use to send and receive email.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards UK law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.

How long we keep it

We keep your list details until we have contacted you about your listing, or until you ask us to remove them, and for no longer than 24 months. Emails are kept for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry.

Your rights

You can ask us to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, to stop using it, or to give you a copy. Email info@orangesteps.com and we'll respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

We'll update this page if anything changes and show the date of the latest version at the top.
