Introducing Coming Soon

Get a head start on the property market.

Sellers find out what buyers think before the sign goes up, so they can decide on price, agent and timing with confidence. Buyers hear about homes before anyone else, including homes that may never reach the open market.

Coming Soon is the time between deciding to sell and going live on Rightmove. Used well, it gives both sellers and buyers a head start. In the US, Coming Soon is growing fast. In Sweden, almost half of all homes are marketed as Coming Soon before going out on the portals. It has caught on because it benefits both home buyers and sellers. Orange Steps brings it to the UK.

Selling

Test the market before you commit.

On Rightmove, buyers can see how long your home has been listed and every time the price has dropped, and both can cost you money. A Coming Soon listing lets you find out what real buyers think first, so you can settle price, agent and timing before anything is public.

  • Free to list. No contract, no tie-in and no agent calls.
  • No public history. Time spent testing interest here doesn't count as time on Rightmove, and there's no “reduced” label to explain later.
  • Real buyer interest. See who wants your home and how they react to the price.
  • Your choice at the end. Sell directly through your solicitor, or choose an agent with a list of interested buyers already behind you.

Buying

Some homes are gone before they reach Rightmove.

Others go live to buyers who have known about them for weeks. If you only look on the portals, you hear last. Register interest for a Coming Soon listing and you hear first: about the home, the price and every move the owner makes.

  • First to hear. A new price, a viewing date, a launch date: you know before the portals do.
  • Homes you won't find on Rightmove. Not yet, and some never will be.
  • Sometimes open to offers. Where the owner wants to hear from buyers, you can make an offer now.
  • Free for buyers. No account, no fee.

Each home is shared through its own page, so there's no public search.

How it works

Three stages, before the market.

01The owner prepares

They create a Coming Soon page for their home and share it with local buyers. The owner decides how much to show, and whether they're open to viewings, offers or just registered interest.

02Buyers come forward

Buyers register interest or, where the owner is open to it, make an offer. Registered buyers hear first about every move, from a new price to a launch date, so they are never a step behind.

03The owner decides

Agree a sale directly, or go to Rightmove with an agent and a list of interested buyers.

Not an estate agent

We don't act for buyers or sellers, value homes, negotiate or handle money.

Your details stay yours

We never pass them to agents or anyone else unless you ask us to.

How we're paid

The optional marketing pack, and referral fees from agents, solicitors and mortgage advisers we introduce. Never a share of the sale price.
